Great site - just missing out on 5 star though

Overall a quiet and peaceful campsite - we stayed in the premium Newton area. The lodge was great and spacious and well equipped. However, the lodge was for 5 people but only a sofa for 3. A corner sofa would have been better that could have accommodated us all comfortably in the evening (especially as the weather meant we couldn't enjoy the outdoor terrace as much as we would have liked). The grounds could do with basic maintenance, for example the gravel on our pathway had worn away so when it rained (which it did quite heavily) it was really muddy in parts - could have been avoided if path properly maintained. Our children were desperate to play mini golf which we did but the area was poorly maintained. Cracks in the course and needed weeding and an overhaul. Swimming area great but main area quite cold compared to the lazy river, we went in May half term and the weather was not great. English visitors beware they require men to wear tight swim shorts. We weren't informed about this prior to our holiday and my husband was therefore not allowed to use the pool. can purchase from the shop (for an inflated price!) Children's play areas could do with an overhaul - very basic and limited. Bar is quite expensive and not great quality. We are being picky though as we would have definitely used the pool more had the weather been on our side. value for money it was great. It was cheaper to stay here than camp in Cornwall in the UK over the May half term! I would not class as a five star site though. Sort out the mini golf and the general grounds upkeep and could be.
